1-10-2009 BUT “the world” does not have a ‘table of contents”

The New York Times says, “It’s like having a ‘table of contents’ for the World.”

BUT The whole point is that “THE WORLD” does NOT have a “table of contents” – you have to discover the world on your own – if you care.

One response to “1-10-2009 BUT “the world” does not have a ‘table of contents”

  1. The writings of Joseph Cambell provide a Table of Contents but then he says “follow your bliss” and discover it on your own. I don’t think discovery is fashionable any more becasue we live with the frontier closed–its been replaced by fear, paranoia, and a culture of irrationality. The new heroic ideal is for human beings to aspire to become wealthy computers and do daily inventories of their table of contents as if certifiying items in a bank vault..
